This two-day special institute on Commercial Renewable Energy Project Development is a new program created to equip attorneys and other land-use professionals with tools and legal knowledge needed to develop commercial-scale wind and solar projects. The institute responds to the evolution of energy markets and policies and the shift in the work of many energy, natural resources, and other lawyers and professionals towards renewable energy projects.

This institute will guide participants through the major stages and considerations of developing commercial-scale wind and solar energy projects. Participants will learn how to build a strong foundation by securing suitable physical locations and drafting robust contracts. Other sessions will cover contracting with utilities; developing a financeable, tax-advantaged project; navigating the complex local, state, and federal regulatory regimes; working with consultants; managing problems that inevitably arise; and responsibly repowering and decommissioning wind and solar installations.

This program is only being offered in an in-person format. Your registration fee includes access to the electronic course materials.
Select recordings of the presentations from this program may be available in our Online CLE library approximately one month after the program.
