Because of the tremendous extent of federal land ownership in the U.S., oil & gas exploration and production activities on public lands continue to play an integral role in satisfying the demand for domestic energy supplies. The need to conduct these activities in an environmentally sound manner, coupled with ever-increasing competing uses of the public domain, dictate that companies and individuals that seek to conduct oil & gas operations involving federal lands be properly equipped to navigate the federal system that governs leasing, development, and operations.
This year’s faculty is comprised of experienced and well-known practitioners and government agency employees, and led by Robert C. Mathes, an attorney with OXY USA Inc., and a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Lectures and exercises will provide attendees with basic understanding of the federal oil & gas leasing system, regularly encountered issues involving federal oil & gas leases, and practical “nuts and bolts” solutions to avoiding or resolving those issues.
Join us in Colorado for this unique course – a comprehensive educational opportunity along with the chance to network with others in the field! You can also network with those attending the Foundation’s 40th Annual Oil & Gas Law Short Course, which is being held concurrently.
This course is essential for attorneys, landmen, government employees, paralegals, and others who practice or work in the oil & gas industry or related fields on federal public lands. The course provides 25 hours of continuing legal education or AAPL credit. The registration fee includes substantial course materials, coffee breaks, and a hosted reception. Course materials are made available exclusively for course registrants.
Hard copy course materials may be purchased for $95 and will be distributed at the Short Course. All registrants will receive electronic materials in advance included with their registration.
This program is only being offered in an in-person format. Your registration fee includes access to the electronic course materials.
This Short Course happens on an bi-annual basis and is therefore not recorded.
